Iranian born Ali Siahvoshi moved to Britain in 1988 following the onset of war and political unrest in Iran. He studied at St Martins College of Art and Design and achieved a degree in Graphic Design and later a Masters in Industrial Design. While studying for his Masters, Ali began experimenting with creating contemporary lighting fixtures from everyday objects. By creating new projects from existing objects, Ali aims to ‘bring the objects closer to the audience’ by designing lighting injected with a sense of amusement and fun. Ali has sponsorship and exhibitions of his work in the British European Design Groups major international exhibitions.
